How to Vote in Virginia

There are three ways to vote in our Commonwealth!

Mail-In Ballot

Voters have until October 24 at 5:00 P.M. to request a mail-in ballot.  Complete and return your ballot to your local general registrar’s office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. If you are returning your ballot by mail, it must be postmarked on or before election day and received by your general registrar’s office by noon on the third day following the election. Early In-Person Voting

Early in-person voting begins on September 19th and ends on November 1st. Each locality in the commonwealth selects their own early voting locations, so you can find yours here.

In-Person Election Day Voting

Election day in Virginia is on November 4th, and polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. As long as you are in line by 7:00 p.m., you will be able to vote. You can find your Election Day polling place here.
